The basics
Yes, completely free. There is no account, no sign up, and no watermark on your strip. Just open it and start shooting.
No. Sunnybooth runs in your browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. There is nothing to install.
No. Your photos are made on your device and they stay there. Nothing is sent to a server, and no one else can see them, including me.
When you close the tab, they are gone. The only copies that last are the ones you save yourself. You can read the full details in the Privacy Policy.
Camera trouble
Sunnybooth needs permission from your browser to use the camera. If you tapped Don't Allow, your browser remembers that and will not ask you again.
To fix it, go to your browser settings for heysunnybooth.com, turn the camera on, then reload the page.
If you opened Sunnybooth from inside another app, like Instagram or TikTok, that is a different problem. See the next question.
When you tap a link inside a social app, it opens in a small browser built into that app. Those mini browsers block the camera and block downloads, so Sunnybooth cannot work in them.
The fix is to open Sunnybooth in your real browser instead.
On Android: tap the Open in browser button Sunnybooth shows you, or find Open in browser in the app's own menu.
On iPhone: tap the three dots at the top right, then tap Open in browser. Apple gives websites no way to do this for you, so this step is unavoidable.
Do this before you start shooting. If you switch browsers afterwards, your photos will be lost.
No. Sunnybooth never asks for your microphone and never uses it. It only asks for your camera.
Your Live Photo is a silent video, so there is no sound in it.
Saving your strip
On a computer: it goes to your Downloads folder, named something like sunnybooth-1.png.
On a phone: a share menu opens. Tap Save Image to put it in your camera roll. Sunnybooth uses this menu on purpose, because a normal phone download often hides the file in Files instead of Photos.
It is a short video of all four of your poses moving, saved as an MP4. Sunnybooth quietly records it while you pose.
When you open your envelope at the end, pick Live Photo instead of Standard. It looks great in Stories.
This is almost always the Instagram or TikTok problem above. Those mini browsers cannot save files at all, so open Sunnybooth in your real browser and try again.
On an iPhone in a normal browser, you can also press and hold the photo strip, then tap Add to Photos.
Making your strip
Yes. After your four shots, tap Retake and choose only the ones you want to do again. You do not have to start over, but you can redo the whole set if you prefer.
Flash Mode makes your screen go bright white the moment each photo is taken, so your face is lit up in a dark room.
Turn your device brightness all the way up for the best result.
Yes. After you finish shooting, you pick the frame color for your strip before it prints.
